Avery Elle Birthday Challenge

The card I am sharing today was made for the new  Avery Elle Challenge Blog.  The theme for this weeks challenge is  Birthday.

I used two different stamp  sets on this card; Bright Days Clear and Framed Fonts Clear.  To get the wood grain effect, I used a technique called velveteen stamping.   Using white pigment ink I stamped a wood grain pattern onto white card stock.  I  then used dye ink to stamp the rays and the wood grain pattern came through the ink.  Isn't this a cool effect?   Since I like birthday cards that are bright and sparkly, I added some diamond Stickles. My husband recently watch the Beatles 50th anniversary show on  CBS  and  in addition to the music,  he loved the art work of Peter Max.  I think this card has a little of that Peter Max vibe to it so this will be perfect for his birthday.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Oh, I totally See Peter Maxx in this design - what a great inspiration he was! And you've executed the Velveteen stamping technique perfectly here - it, too, is one of my faves! Thanks so much for playing with us at the Avery Elle Challenge - we're so glad you did!
