Mojo Monday Sketch 287

Today I have a card to share with you that I made for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch.  Here is the sketch,

and here is the card I made based on this sketch.

I  like embossing pattern paper because it changes the look of the paper and as well as adding texture.  I used mostly Anna Griffin supplies on  this card including the sentiment stamp, pattern paper, and embossing folders. The vintage typewriter  stamp is from Glitz Designs. Some aged doilies and a few blue pearls finished off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Moxie Fab World: The Washi Tape Challenge

Today I have a card to share that I made for the Moxie Fab World Washi Tape Challenge.  Truth be told, I had never used washi tape before and thought this would be a good excuse to see what I could do with it.  When my son asked me to make him a birthday card to give to his father this is what I created for him using washi tape.

Based on a notebook theme, I created this card and used washi tape for the die cut letters and candles. For the letters, I created the pattern by layering various tapes on card stock then cutting it out. I only used three candles because one candle for each year would have been a tad too much! This was a fun challenge and I'm glad I gave it a try.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Susan

Moxie Fab World Camera Craze Challenge

When I saw the Camera Craze  Challenge at Moxie Fab World, I decided it was time to dust off my blog and create a card for the challenge.  Since I have no camera stamps or dies, I thought it would be fun to  make a camera shaped card.  I ran across an article not too long along about a new instant camera Polaroid is supposed to come out with next year and thought it would be the perfect template for a card.

Just like the prototype, I had the sentiment slide out of the side of the card where the photo would be ejected. I stamped on vellum for a more realistic feel.

I think I'll send this card to my son who is away at college. He'll get a kick out of the interactive aspect of this card plus he puts so much time and effort into his studies that  I want to remind him  just how special he is and how  much I admire all his hard work.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek.

Moxie Fab World - The Focal Point Challenge

Today I have a card to share with you that I made for the Moxie Fab World Focal Point Challenge.  It's been quite a while since I've able to to make any cards. My husband was quite ill all summer and as a result my whole world stopped for a little while during his illness.  Now that he's doing better and on the road to recovery, my creative juices are starting to flow once again and I'm excited to give this challenge a try. For the Focal Point Challenge, I decided to make a Halloween card with the focal point of the card being the sentiment.

To begin the card, I stamped and framed the sentiment with these beautiful ornate die cuts.  To further accentuate the sentiment I added orange and brown rhinestones.  I then used a mix of pattern  paper that emulates the curves of the die cuts. I like how the die cuts give the card that touch of elegance I was looking for.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek.

Friends With Flair

Good morning Unity fans!  I am so excited to share with you a card I made using one of the newest {ippity} stamp sets Dream to Be.

I think this is such a pretty stamp set and I especially love the bird stamp in this set.  I like making shaped cards so I decided to cut out my  card base with  the Spellbinders stamp dies.  I then used the Unity wood grain stamp for the background.  The leaves and branches were paper pieced with polka dot paper and some of the leaves were attached with pop dots for added dimension.  Some yellow twine completed the card.  Here is a picture of the full stamp set.

You can view all of the {ippity} stamp sets that were released this week by clicking here

Thanks so much for stopping by and if you have a chance, check out the Unity sale.  I noticed a few {ippity} stamp sets were marked down during this sale. For all the participants in this weeks hop click here.

Have a great weekend,

Friends With Flair

Hello everyone!  Today I have a card to share with you that I made for my mother for Mother's Day.  This card uses both {ippity} and Unity stamps.

I have this paper from paper Making Memories called Sabrina which is a collection of papers in pink, black and white. I have always loved this collection and thought it would work well for the card I wanted to create.  I started with the {ippity} stamp set,  Friends Plus Flowers = Friendship.  This is truly one of my favorite {ippity} stamp sets because of the fun flowers in this set.  I just think the flowers in this set are so versatile and are  the perfect shapes to easily cut out.  I stamped each flower at least once onto patterned paper, then cut them out.  Each flower was attached with a pop dot for dimension and pearls were used to accent the center of each flower.  For the sentiment, I used the Unity stamp set  A Mother's Love.  This inside of the card was stamped with light gray and pale pink flowers then I printed the sentiment on top of the stamping.  I was really happy with how the card turned out.  My only problem is that my mother does not like a dark card.  The only card  I made her that she didn't like had a black card base and she didn't like the black.  As a matter of fact she mentioned that to me this morning when we were talking on the phone.  So I hope she makes an exception this time!

On another note, did you see the new {ippity} stamps that were released last night?  If not, check out out my post from yesterday to see all the new stamps sets and a card I made using the new sets.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Mother's Day to everyone!
