Moxie Fab World - The Focal Point Challenge

Today I have a card to share with you that I made for the Moxie Fab World Focal Point Challenge.  It's been quite a while since I've able to to make any cards. My husband was quite ill all summer and as a result my whole world stopped for a little while during his illness.  Now that he's doing better and on the road to recovery, my creative juices are starting to flow once again and I'm excited to give this challenge a try. For the Focal Point Challenge, I decided to make a Halloween card with the focal point of the card being the sentiment.

To begin the card, I stamped and framed the sentiment with these beautiful ornate die cuts.  To further accentuate the sentiment I added orange and brown rhinestones.  I then used a mix of pattern  paper that emulates the curves of the die cuts. I like how the die cuts give the card that touch of elegance I was looking for.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek.

Friends With Flair

Good morning Unity fans!  I am so excited to share with you a card I made using one of the newest {ippity} stamp sets Dream to Be.

I think this is such a pretty stamp set and I especially love the bird stamp in this set.  I like making shaped cards so I decided to cut out my  card base with  the Spellbinders stamp dies.  I then used the Unity wood grain stamp for the background.  The leaves and branches were paper pieced with polka dot paper and some of the leaves were attached with pop dots for added dimension.  Some yellow twine completed the card.  Here is a picture of the full stamp set.

You can view all of the {ippity} stamp sets that were released this week by clicking here

Thanks so much for stopping by and if you have a chance, check out the Unity sale.  I noticed a few {ippity} stamp sets were marked down during this sale. For all the participants in this weeks hop click here.

Have a great weekend,

Friends With Flair

Hello everyone!  Today I have a card to share with you that I made for my mother for Mother's Day.  This card uses both {ippity} and Unity stamps.

I have this paper from paper Making Memories called Sabrina which is a collection of papers in pink, black and white. I have always loved this collection and thought it would work well for the card I wanted to create.  I started with the {ippity} stamp set,  Friends Plus Flowers = Friendship.  This is truly one of my favorite {ippity} stamp sets because of the fun flowers in this set.  I just think the flowers in this set are so versatile and are  the perfect shapes to easily cut out.  I stamped each flower at least once onto patterned paper, then cut them out.  Each flower was attached with a pop dot for dimension and pearls were used to accent the center of each flower.  For the sentiment, I used the Unity stamp set  A Mother's Love.  This inside of the card was stamped with light gray and pale pink flowers then I printed the sentiment on top of the stamping.  I was really happy with how the card turned out.  My only problem is that my mother does not like a dark card.  The only card  I made her that she didn't like had a black card base and she didn't like the black.  As a matter of fact she mentioned that to me this morning when we were talking on the phone.  So I hope she makes an exception this time!

On another note, did you see the new {ippity} stamps that were released last night?  If not, check out out my post from yesterday to see all the new stamps sets and a card I made using the new sets.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Mother's Day to everyone!

Ippity Stamps Blog Hop For May

Good evening  everyone and welcome to another {ippity} stamps blog hop. I always look forward to the monthly releases and I'm sure you'll agree the releases for this month are fabulous!  Five new stamp sets are being released this month including four itty bitty stamp sets. The card I made for you today uses the largest of the stamp sets, Courage is My Strength.

We received the stamp sets a little late this month, so the butterfly used on this card is slightly smaller that the actual stamp because it is a digital image. I already had the butterfly cut and colored by the time I received the actual stamp sets, so I just decided to go ahead and use it.  All the papers used on this card are from the Buttercup collection from Lily Bee Designs. I think blue and yellow is starting to become my favorite color combination.  It is just so fresh looking!

Here are actual photos of all the stamps being released tonight.

Pictured here two of the itty bitty stamps sets, One of THOSE days and Pain and Strength.

Here are photos of the other two itty bitty stamp sets, java Friend and Live half FULL.

And last but not least, here is the stamp set I used on my card, Courage is my Strength.

Next  up on the hop is Sabrina.  Click here to visit her blog, and in case you get lost,  click here for the complete list of blog hop participants.

Thank you so much for stopping by tonight and enjoy the rest of the hop. I would love to be your {ippity} chick so to shop with me for {ippity}  just visit the Unity Website and  click on my name and photo.  Thank you for choosing me as your {ippity} chick!

Ippity Stamps New Release and Friends With Flair

Good morning everyone! Today I am sharing with you the cards I made using the new {ippity} stamps that were released last night. I hope you enjoy the new releases and like them as much as I do!

Good evening and welcome the April Ippity Stamps Blog Hop. I'm so glad you were able to stop by tonight!  This month's new releases are wonderful for coloring and paper piecing as well as for bringing out your artistic side! Four brand new stamp sets are being released this month. Three of the new stamp sets were designed by the very talented artist, Angie Bloom.

The first stamp set, Bloom and Simplify consists of 3 stamps: a script stamp, a sentiment and this beautiful large pansy stamp.

For this card I embossed the background and paper pieced the large pansy. Did you notice the details in the leaves?  Little hearts are attached to the leaves.  Don't you just love this large pansy flower with all the detail?  I do!

The next stamp set  Angie Girl:  Dream with your Heart consists of four stamps: two flower stamps, a silhouette stamp and a sentiment.

This set has such a romantic feel and I love the girl silhouette in this stamp set!  I stamped and embossed all the images in white,  added a little paper piecing and a handmade rosette.

The third release, Let your Heart Take Flight, also consists of four stamps: three sentiments and a winged heart image.

Hearts with wings, such a beautiful image!  To add dimension to the card I created a 3D heart by simply stamping the heart four times, cutting out the hearts, folding the hearts in half and gluing the folded hearts together.  I love how it turned out!

And last, but not least, the itty bitty release for this month is a golf themed set which includes a golf cart and three sentiments. Perfect for golfers and dads.

I hope you love this month's releases as much as I do!  Don't forget to visit the Unity forum on Splitcoast Stampers this evening  for lots of chit chat and GIVEAWAYS!   Click on over to the Unity website for special offers on this months new releases.

Up next on the blog hop list is the talented Jen and if you want to go back to the complete list of blog hop participants, click here.

Enjoy the rest of the blog hop and thanks so much for stopping by!

Freinds With Flair and the Shabby Tea Room

Hello everyone!  Today I have a card to share with you that I made for this weeks challenge at The Shabby Tea Room.    The theme this week was bright and beautiful spring.

Here is the inspiration photo.

I used papers from Webster's Pages as well a Webster's Pages stamp set from Unity titled Love.  I used some handmade flowers and  an Anna Griffin punch for the leaves.  The  edges of the paper were distressed  and a little scroll was used for the sentiment.  The wood grain frame was made from the Label 18 Spellbinders die.  A few pearls completed the card.

Friends With Flair

Good morning!  What beautiful spring weather we are having!  I hope the weather is as nice in your area as it is here.  Today I made a card using one of my favorite {ippity} stamp sets, Friends + Flowers = Friendship.  I love the flowers in this set  and here is the card I created.

I began my card by randomly stamping the large flower from this set in the colors of light blue, medium blue, yellow and green.  I then stamped over the colored flowers with the polka dot  flower in black ink.  I used polka dot ribbon to coordinate with the flower.  A few black pearls and a sentiment frame cut from a Spellbinder's  tag completed the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop.  For the complete list of participants click here.  Have a wonderful weekend!

The Play Date Cafe #123

Good morning and happy spring! The weather here is just gorgeous!  I hope it's just as nice where you live. The bright color combo at The Play Date Cafe  reminds me of the colors of summer.  Teal, electric green, tangerine and jeans are a cheerful color combination that I thought would work well with my new Groovy bus stamp.

To begin the card I colored in the image with Prismacolor markers in the colors of Pale Vermilion, Parrot Green, Violet Blue and Lime peel.  I then matted the image with teal and orange paper and used coordinating twine.  Since the colors this week were so bright, I wanted to use a white card base which I embossed with circle flowers reminiscent of the '70's.

Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy the wonderful spring weather!

Friends With Flair

Good morning  Unity and Ippity fans!  Today I have a card to share with you that I made for the current {ippity} challenge to make a project featuring winged things, things that fly, things in the air.  My winged thing is a bee and here is my mini card.

This cute little bee is from the {ippity} stamp set,  Your  Friendship, My Cup of Tea.   I also added a little honeycomb background  from one of my favorite {ippity} stamp sets, Make Your Mark. The wings were paper pieced and attached with pop dots.   A little bit of twine and a decorative square Spellbinder die used to cut out the shape of the card, completed the card. The {ippity} challenge runs through tomorrow if you want to play along.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great weekend!

The Play Date Cafe Challenge 122

I love the color combination this week at the Play Date Cafe of charcoal, ash and butter.  The colors also coordinated perfectly with one of my favorite paper collections, the  Queen Bee collection from Pink Paisley.

So when I needed to make a thank you card for a special occasion,  this color combo was the perfect starting point.

Using a combination of Spellbinders dies which included Fancy Tags Three, Labels  Twenty-One and the Double Ended Tags, I cut out three different pattern papers.  Each layer was attached with pop dots for added dimensions.  A few black pearls,  a doily  and a sentiment from A muse stamps completed the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Good morning and welcome to the Ippity Blog Hop for March. If you came here from Jen's blog , you are on the right track.   This month the chicks are shaking things up a bit.  To be eligible for the monthly stamp drawing you must first figure out a quote from one of the {ippity} stamp sets.  Each blog will have a highlighted word.  As you hop from blog to blog, write down the highlighted word and when you have compiled all the words in the quote, email Rona at stamps_scrapbooksbyrona@hotmail.com  with the complete quote and your name will be entered into the drawing for {ippity} stamps.  For complete details and the list of blog participants click here.

I am so excited to share with you a few cards I made using the new stamp sets being released today.

Isn't this a beautiful stamp? The stamp set used on this card is called Be Brave....Branch Out.   I thought  this stamp was so elegant that it would look pretty embossed.  I also dry  embossed the card base with an embossing folder that coordinated with the stamp. A matching bow completed this monochromatic card.

Here is the next card I made.

I think this is just the most adorable  stamp set! This stamp set is named dream a little dream.  How perfect is this stamp set for a wedding, birthday or even Mother's Day?  I used a combination of watercolor and metallic paint to color the image.  A few blue rhinestones and a tulle bow completed the card.

Here are the other stamp sets that are being released today.

Groovy

Because of the cherry it counts as fruit

It's raining happy

And now for the word you need to complete the quote:

Growing In Unity Day 4

Hello and welcome once again.  Since it's the first of March and we just had our first snow storm of the winter, I made a card that reminds me of the warmer weather.  I am also entering this card in the Moxie Fab World , The Cure for the Winter Blues Challenge.  The challenge is to use the color of navy blue.

I love navy blue and I'm so glad it's becoming popular in the paper crafting world. To start this card, I used my favorite text stamp from Unity called Giving it all meaning. I then pieced together the oval from 3 different shades of blue. I used the text stamp again on the paper pieced oval, then I stamped and embossed the potted plant.  Every time I look at this card it  reminds me of the ocean and and a summer day.  To me, summer and navy blue go together.  The sentiment and the potted plant are from the {ippity} stamp set so this is LOVE.   A sentiment tag and a few blue rhinestones finished off the card.

Thanks again for stopping by and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Remember everyone who leaves a comment this week will be entered in a drawing to receive their choice of two itty bitty stamp sets from Unity.  Thanks again for stopping by and please stop by my blog again tomorrow for another card created with both {ippity} and Unity stamps. Enjoy your day!
