Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger -Poppin' Off the Page!
This week's Tuesday Trigger at Moxi Fab Word is this big bold wall hanging from Marimekko:
I really like this print and if I had the right room for it I would buy it! What fascinates me about this print is the more you look at it, the more detail you see. It seems like each time I look at this print, I see something I hadn't noticed before. I could build a whole room around this print just playing off the colors. When it came to card making I was inspired by the beautiful color pallet of the flowers: red, fuchsia, mustard and blue against the big bold lines and circles. This is the card I created:
To begin with, I embossed big chunky circles onto black card stock. I then stamped this beautiful flower from Amy Butler three times onto the center strip. The flowers were stamped again and colored in with markers using the colors of blue, fuchsia and mustard. The colored flowers were then cut out and layered upon the stamped flowers using pop dots to give the card some dimension. Red card stock was layered under the center strip. The sentiment, again from Amy Butler was stamped and embossed onto vellum and cut out. Two black pearls were used to accent the sentiment.
